SMT (Surface Mount Technology) nozzle is an important component used in automated SMT equipment. Its main function is to remove surface mount components from the feeder and place them on the PCB board. The structural principle of the suction nozzle is as follows:

 

1. Inflation principle: The suction nozzle usually adopts the inflation principle, which generates or applies negative pressure inside the nozzle to absorb the SMT components. There is usually a cavity inside the suction nozzle, which is connected to the air source and vacuum system. When the suction element is needed, negative pressure is applied to the cavity, making the suction nozzle a negative pressure environment.

 

2. Suction cup structure: The end of the suction nozzle is usually equipped with a suction cup, which has multiple small holes. When negative pressure is applied to the suction nozzle cavity, air will be sucked in through the small hole on the suction cup, generating negative pressure suction. Suction cups are usually made of soft materials to accommodate components of different sizes and shapes.

 

3. Contact principle: When the suction cup of the nozzle contacts the surface of the SMT component, due to the negative pressure, a seal is formed between the suction cup and the component, allowing the component to be firmly adsorbed on the nozzle.
